Hoya macrophylla, aka the Big-Leaf Hoya, truly lives up to its name with its very large leaves which are uncommon for hoyas. Keep these gorgeous, epiphytic plants in bright, indirect light and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Hoyas love to be root bound and will flower when they are dry, nutrient-poor, and snug in their pots. Make sure not to fertilize them too often, and never cut off the long vines, or peduncles, which will carry the plant's eventual blooms. Hoyas usually flower when they are 5+ years old.
