The fern gets its name from the scale-like appearance of its leaves which also makes it an appealing houseplant for fern lovers. They require bright indirect to moderate light and rich yet well-draining soil. Keep evenly moist at all times and provide adequate humidity through misting, grouping with other plants, or using a humidity tray. Fertilize once per month during the growing season.
