Calathea ornata is also known as the "Pinstripe Plant" for good reason – its elongated, dark green leaves are lined with electric pink stripes.
This lovely plant prefers medium to bright indirect light. Keep guarded against direct sun and mist periodically or use a humidifier to increase humidity around the plant and keep its leaves lush. Set on a pebble tray to add extra humidity and keep leaves from crisping. Keep evenly moist at all times. Fertilize once per month during the growing season. Calatheas can be a bit sensitive to salts in tap water. If you find that your plant's leaves are browning along the edges or the tips, it could be due to salt accumulation which you can remedy by switching to filtered water.
