Calathea lancifolia, aka the Rattlesnake Plant, is part of the Prayer Plant family. Keep your Calathea away from direct sun. Calathea's do best in bright, indirect light, with a preference for Northern and Eastern exposures. Maintain a lightly moist soil at all times. Humidity is important for overall health of these plants. You can provide humidity by misting, grouping with other plants, or using a humidity tray. Fertilize once per month during the growing season.
Calatheas can also be a little sensitive to salts in tap water- if you find that their leaves are browning along the edges or at the tips, it could be due to salt accumulation. You can remedy this by providing them filtered water or rainwater.
