Calathea Beauty Star, aka the Peacock Plant, is truly a star! The detail in the leaves looks almost hand-painted. Calathea plants enjoy lower light levels, high humidity, and consistently moderate soil moisture. Position the Calathea plant in indirect sunlight. Keep the plant away from direct sunlight because this will scorch the leaves. Maintain air temperatures around your Calathea of 60 to 70 degrees.
Calatheas can also be a little sensitive to salts in tap water- if you find that their leaves are browning along the edges or at the tips, it could be due to salt accumulation. You can remedy this by providing them with filtered water or rainwater. Fertilize once per month during the growing season.
