Cycas revoluta, aka the Sago Palm, is native to Japan, and is one of the few houseplants that is a gymnosperm, making it closer to a conifer than a palm. They are also dioecious as well, meaning each plant is gendered as male or female. The Sago Palm needs very well-draining soil that has the chance to dry out between waterings to avoid root rot. Provide bright, indirect light for the healthiest growth and fertilize once per month in the growing season.
