Saintpaulia ionantha, aka African Violets, are darling little plants that require a little extra TLC to thrive in your home. These fuzzy plants with vibrant flowers do not like to get water on their leaves as this will result in immediate fungal damage. Water these plants from the bottom to avoid this issue. Keep in a well-draining soil mixture to avoid root rot. Provide bright, indirect light to moderate light for healthy growth and rotate the plant every couple of weeks for even growth. Use an African Violet fertilizer once per month in the growing season (April-October).
