Othonna capensis, aka Ruby Necklace or String of Pickles, is a stunning trailing succulent that turns a beautiful maroon color when in bright light. When in lower light conditions, this plant will remain green with some purple hues along the stems. For optimal growth, provide your Othonna with bright, indirect light and allow the soil to thoroughly dry out in between waterings. These plants go dormant in the summer- during this period, you will want to keep watering to a minimum and keep them away from direct sun. Keep in a well-draining soil mix. Fertilize once every 6-8 weeks in the growing season and avoid getting the leaves wet, if possible.
